Overheard in Union Square

Small Child to Caregiver.  Said in a way that was both observational and competitive:

“My fish are older than your fish.”

PS Union Square Farmer’s Market apparently has bags of discount apples you can buy if you go to the apple stands c. 6 pm.  Like a bag of Empires for $2.  Them’s cheap fresh calories.

One response to “Overheard in Union Square

  1. I once heard a kid at a commune — Ananda in Northern California — say, “My white light of Enlightenment is brighter than your white light of Enlightenment…”

    Kids are kids.

And we are all primates, which mean territory and status…

Even — or especially? — in Union Square…
